Annette has been a private practitioner since 1998 and trained in counselling skills at St Helens College. Annette Boden went on to train in Eriksonian Hypnotherapy; Psychotherapy; Counselling; Cognitive Therapy and Neuro--Linquistic Programming at The National School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (N-SHAP), Regents Park College, London.
Annette is qualified as a Trained Mindful Self-Compassion teacher.
Annette Boden qualified as a hypno-psychotherapist in 1998 and became an advanced hypno-therapist in 2000. To support UKCP registration requirements, Annette also attained ADHP (NC) an advanced diploma in Hypno-psycotherapy with the National College.
Annette runs a busy private practice in Chinley, Nr Buxton; a clinic at Sett Valley Medical practice and a clinic by appointment at The Spire Regency Hospital and 250 Park Lane, Priorslegh Medical Centre, Poynton covering Manchester South.
Annette runs relaxation master classes, anxiety management courses, mindfulness compassion-focused well-being workshps and seminars for corporate clients and in the community. Annette also runs workshops at Blythe House hospice by invitation. Her services are also extended to corporate clients wishing to bring therapy 'in-house' to support staff well being.
In March 2010 Annette became registered with the Minnesota Institute of Advanced Communication skills after completing 13 hours of Continuous Professional development for the AHH-sponsored OCD and Anxiety Disorders master class with Devan Hastings. This enabled her to become a registered OCD and Anxiety disorders Hypnosis specialist.
Therapeutic interventions Annette employs are eclectic and integrative, utilising a combination of Hypnotherapy, Cognitive therapy, Psychotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Counselling, and mindfulness.
Therapy is brief, dynamic and solution focused, using the principles of positive psychology, transpersonal psychology, and Compassion focused therapy.
Annette completed an advanced skills workshop in Compassion focused therapy with Professor Paul Gilbert in December 2011. This is a CBT based therapeutic approach based on the principles of the research undertaken in evolutionary psychology concerning the emotional systems identified within the brain.
Annette tutored for The Academy of Holistic Hypnotherapy for the 2010 intake and continued to further her development and skills as a practitioner through her undertaking and achieving of, an MSc in consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology.
Continuous Professional Development is ongoing and now includes completion of two intensive courses in Mindful self-compassion taught by Professor Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, PhD. Annette has also completed a one year training course with the Mindfulness Association.
Annette continues personal development to enhance the quality of her clinical practice through the practice of meditation and mindfulness, and self-compassion practice.
