Mr Manu Patel trained in both Dentistry and in Medicine at Liverpool University and qualified with both undergraduate degrees. Following training posts in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery, he completed his higher surgical training at the Head and Neck unit in Liverpool. He is registered on the General Medical Council Specialist List.
Mr. Patel has obtained a Dental Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and Surgical Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons England. He was appointed to the post of Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Head and Neck Surgeon at South Manchester University hospitals in 1995. He continues to treats patients across the entire spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has been Clinical Lead for his department for the last 10 years and also Clinical Lead for Head and Neck surgery at South Manchester.
Mr. Patel has been elected as examiner to the Intercollegiate board in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and is Academic Advisor to medical students. He regularly runs teaching sessions on all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and frequently teaches on Oral Cancer diagnosis and screening.
Mr. Patel has a busy clinical practice with weekly sessions at Wythenshawe, Christie , Stepping Hill Hospital and Macclesfield Hospitals.
