I am a Urological Surgeon with a special interest and expertise in cancer diagnosis, management and surgery.

I graduated from the University College, Cork, Ireland and trained in Ireland, England and Scotland achieving FRCS (Ed) and FRCS (Glas) in 1989. Following the West of Scotland General Surgical Rotation I specialised in Urology and performed my higher degree research and subsequent thesis in Stirling Royal Infirmary affiliated to Edinburgh University and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and was awarded an MD in 1993. I am an experienced Surgeon in general and cancer urology having been appointed Consultant in 1997. I have maintained my research interests and am now Research Lead and MD Supervisor. I also run the North West Regional Prostate Cancer Audit for the last 10 years.
