Background Information

Professional profile:

Mr Agrawal graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. His general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases including Guys Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital where he learnt oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery. He has always been interested in cancer surgery and as part of his higher surgical training at the University College London, he was awarded a masters degree for his research into the possibilities of gene therapy in the prevention and treatment of cancer.

In 2007 Mr Agrawal was appointed as Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, he carries out a full range of breast surgery including sentinel node biopsy, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. He is currently the Clinical Lead/Head of Department for Breast & Endocrine Surgery for Portsmouth. Mr Agrawal also has a specialist interest in and undertakes surgery for thyroid, parathyroid, hernia and melanoma conditions.
