Perform has some of the most advanced technologies in the field of performance medicine.
Alter G
Alter G – an advanced anti-gravity treadmill that lowers a person’s body weight to reduce impact on their lower body. It is used by many elite sporting teams and orthopaedic surgeons to help speed up recovery from injury and surgery. The Alter-G is used by our centre in Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham).
Firstbeat
Firstbeat – a lightweight, unobtrusive monitor that is worn over a 72-hour period and lets you find out more about your lifestyle, minute by minute, and how different things affect your body. It provides detailed information on:
- Stress - when and what is happening to your body?
- Sleep - what is the quality of your recovery?
- Resilience - how effectively are you dealing with the demands of evryday life?
- Exercise - are you achieving a health promoting benefit; how well are you training?
Firstbeat is used by our centre in North London (Bushey and Radlett)
Game Ready
Game Ready – combines adjustable cold and intermittent compression to help reduce pain, swelling, tissue damage and muscle spasms. It is used to treat sporting injuries or support recovery following orthopaedic surgery. Game Ready is used by our centres in North London (Bushey and Radlett).
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) – a treatment form that involves shockwaves being passed through the skin to the injured part of the body. This prompts the body to respond naturally by increasing blood circulation, the number of blood vessels and therefore metabolism in the injured tissue, and accelerates the healing process. It is used to treat a range of injuries including tennis elbow and shoulder pain and heel pain. ESWT is used by our centres in North London (Bushey and Radlett) and Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham (Little Aston).
