TV presenter Fern Britton claims she is extremely happy with the results of her gastric band surgery.
Just after she went under the knife she came in for a swathe of criticism from the popular press when she denied having the operation.
However, the former This Morning presenter claimed that the media hassle was worth it as the results of the surgery have been astonishing.
Speaking to Good Housekeeping magazine, the 53-year-old said she was only just starting to accept what a transformation gastric band surgery had made to her life.
She said: "I'm just starting to get used to the fact that not only am I fitter than I've ever been, but I also think, 'Look at yourself in the mirror and be pleased'."
Her comments come after the NHS released figures showing that more people are opting for gastric band surgery than ever before.
In the past year alone, the number of gastric band operations taking place has risen by 70 per cent.
