Carol Vorderman: Results of laser eye surgery feel like a miracle

22 May 2012

Well-loved television personality Carol Vorderman has revealed the joy that she has experienced since undergoing laser eye surgery.

The former Countdown presenter revealed to the Daily Mail that her eyesight started to fail her soon after she turned 46 years old.

"I started having to hold things further and further away from me in order to focus properly," Ms Vorderman recalled.

The Loose Women presenter wore reading glasses to combat her failing eyesight at first, but found them frustrating.

Over time, Ms Vorderman decided that the best course of action to reverse the effects of fading sight was to opt for laser eye surgery.

Commenting on the results of the procedure, the television presenter said: "Before my fading eyesight was affecting everything. Now I can just pick up anything and read it straight off - for me, this has been like a miracle."

Over the past few years, Cilla Black, former Spice Girl Mel B, Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt have all undergone laser eye surgery to improve their eyesight.
