What our patients say about us

At Spire Parkway Hospital we’re very proud that 97% of patients rate our overall quality of service
‘excellent’, ‘very good’ or ‘good’. Not only that, 92% of the people who were treated here before would definitely or were likely to recommend us in the future.

Making sure our patients are well looked after is our top priority. Every year, Spire Healthcare carries out an independent survey to find out how patients think we’re performing. In 2011 21,688 patients who had attended one of the 37 Spire Healthcare hospitals between 1 June and 31 August 2011 were randomly selected, contacted by post and asked to complete a survey.

This is what patients from Spire Parkway Hospital told us from the Spire Healthcare Patient Satisfaction Survey 2012 Results:

  • 100% said the cleanliness of the hospital was excellent, very good or quite good
  • 99% said the quality of care they received from their consultant was excellent, very good or quite good
  • 98% agree they had confidence and trust in the nurses who looked after them
  • 98% said the hospital did everything they could to help control their pain
  • 97% agree the staff at the hospital went out of their way to make a difference to their stay
  • 97% agree they felt reassured and safe throughout their experience
  • 96% agree they were treated with compassion and respect at all times
  • 96% said the way they were prepared for being at home was excellent, very good or quite good

Patient Comments

  •  I want you to know how much I appreciated the care I received from the staff who looked after me during my recent stay there.  I could not have had better treatment.

    In particular I would like to thank Mr Matharu who carried out the operation and the nurses, therapists and the anaesthetist who were all so considerate and encouraging.

    The meals also were excellent, as was the service and my husband who stayed with me during the daytime was very impressed by the care and attention displayed by all of the staff members as they carried out their various tasks.

    We think that it would be a very good thing if NHS hospital staff could spend time working in smaller hospitals like Spire Parkway to learn how to look after their patients!

    Once again, thanking everyone there for the wonderful treatment I received: I would love to be able to return there to thank them all personally.

  • To all staff concerned
    As a day case patient yesterday, I would like to thank all of the staff for making my stay stress free.  The courteousness of all of your employees is a huge credit to your organisation.

    People are always quick enough to criticise and praise makes for good working relationships and this aspect came over to me loud and strong. Very well deserved praise.

  •  I have recently undergone a total hip replacement at the Spire Parkway Hospital.  My surgical team were headed by Mr Goswami and Dr Shilling.

    I wish to thank the surgical team, nursing and domestic staff for their professionalism and wonderful care for the period of my stay at the hospital and also the physiotherapy team for the information and care given to me.

    The work undertook reflects outstandingly on the reputation of this lovely hospital.

  • I wish to thank the staff who cared for me at Parkway.  From the receptionists to my pre-operative assessment, my operation and post-operative care to seeing my consultant, Mr Jaganathan who did an excellent procedure, through to being discharged. I received every care that I could have wished for. Everyone, theatre and recovery teams, nursing staff and hostesses gave their full commitment to my care. 

    The catering I feel, deserves a Michelin star!
