I am a full time Consultant Ophthalmologist in the NHS and clinical lead for the glaucoma team at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley. I have 18 years of valuable and wide ranging experience in Ophthalmology.
I have had extensive training and experience in managing Glaucoma and glaucoma related conditions, corneal diseases of the eye and I am an experienced cataract surgeon with a very safe track record.
I completed a year of Senior Glaucoma Fellowship from the prestigious Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre, where I had the opportunity to achieve extensive and comprehensive expertise in Glaucoma and complex and challenging cataract surgeries.
I am dual trained, cornea being my second sub-speciality interest. I have achieved expertise in managing various corneal diseases, both medically and surgically after completing a clinical fellowship in cornea from Newcastle upon Tyne.
I have had the pleasure and opportunity to successfully clear all the ophthalmology related examinations in the UK and in India. I completed higher speciality training as a specialist registrar in Ophthalmology from South Wales deanery, based in Cardiff. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, UK.
I have been actively involved in various research projects, audits and have made numerous regional, national and international presentations. I also have numerous publications in various ophthalmology journals. I am the designated clinical and educational supervisor to training/junior doctors.
Working in two continents under different circumstances and dealing with diverse groups of patients has given me a very unique perspective and insight. Working in various units in the UK has helped me gather the best practices from all these units and combine them to ensure I deliver a fully individualized service to my patients.
