I graduated from Mysore University in 1993 and obtained my postgraduate qualification in General Medicine from Bombay University in 1996. I completed specialist training in haematology from the West Midlands Deanery following initial training at the Royal Free and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. I undertook a period of research in myeloma and venous thrombosis at Warwick University.
I have significant experience in the treatment of haematological malignancies including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, investigation of thrombosis risk factors and inherited thrombophilia and stem cell transplantation.
I was appointed as consultant haematologist in March 2007 at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. My main interests are malignant haematology, stem cell transplantation and venous thrombosis. I have published research in top international haematology journals.
I also take part in a large number of trials in haemato-oncology and I am either principal investigator or co-investigator for a number of trials at my institution.
