Dr. Das graduated from Calcutta, India and acquired extensive experience in general gynaecology during his research leading to MD. Dr Das received his specialist training in the UK within the Wessex and West Midlands regions. He worked as a clinical research fellow in Minimal Access Surgery leading to accreditation in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic surgeries.
Currently Dr. Das offers a wide range of general gynaecology services including management of menstrual disorders, fibroids, prolapse, chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis. He also offers a number of specialist gynaecology services such as minimal access gynaecological surgery, ambulatory gynaecology and rapid access screening for suspected gynaecological cancers.
Dr. Das offers laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cysts and is expanding the scope to include laparoscopic hysterectomy. He specialises in various aspects of hysteroscopic diagnostic and surgical procedures which include endometrial ablation and removal of endometrial polyps. Dr Das is passionate about Ambulatory Gynaecology which involves performing minor surgical procedures and hysteroscopic procedures in the outpatient setting without the need of general anaesthesia and has been pivotal in establishing this new service in his NHS Practice.
He is an honorary senior lecturer of the University of Birmingham. His other key NHS responsibilities include being the audit lead and the lead for highly specialised Multiple Pregnancy Service and Perinatal Mental Health Service.
