Dr Antony Thomas joined University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire in early 2008 as a Consultant Neurologist and he developed a Specialist Headache service in 2009.
He obtained his MBChB from Kerala University, Kottayam in 1989. He had two Post Graduate degrees in General Medicine, MD from Kasturba Medical College Manipal, India and DNB (Diplomate of National Board) from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. His neurology training included spells at St James University Hospital Leeds and Leicester Royal Infirmary followed by a Clinical research in Motor Neuron Disease (MND) at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. His main Calman programme took place at Wessex Neurological Centre based at University Teaching Hospital Southampton and Poole General Hospital.
His headache interest developed as a Specialist Registrar and later trained in Headache disorders at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London with the Headache Group and also at the North Midlands headache clinic. He also had training in Neuro-ophthalmology at Moorfields & St Thomas’s in London.
Dr Thomas offers Botox injections for chronic migraine and greater occipital nerve injection for chronic medically refractory headaches, he also has general neurology clinics at various hospital sites across the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
