Spire Parkway Hospital was proud to be one of the sponsors once again for this year’s Knowle Fun Run organised by the Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club.
A team of physiotherapists from the hospital were pleased to offer ‘warm up’ and cool down’ massage services to the runners of the 2013 Knowle Fun Run which took place on Sunday 12th May.
With nearly 1900 entries, our physiotherapists had a busy day! They managed to treat almost 100 runners and raised over £85 from donations to put towards the Lions Club’s chosen charities.
Nick Owen, presenter on BBC's local news show Midlands Today, set the runners on their way on the stroke of midday.
The winner was a 16 year old student who completed the 5.2 mile course in 26 minutes 55 seconds, less than 1 minute ahead of 2nd home.
The organisers hope to have raised over £40,000 when all the runners sponsorship has been received.
This year’s chosen charities are:
•Marie Curie Big Build
•Age UK Solihull
