Lead Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist
Alison registered as a nurse in 1987 and has worked as a Colorectal Nurse Specialist since 1996. She is experienced in the investigation and nursing management of patients with disorders of bowel function as well as stoma care and bowel cancer. She was appointed to the post of Lead Colorectal Nurse Specialist for Heart of England Foundation Trust in 2008 with responsibility for the development, management and delivery of the colorectal nursing service and across three hospitals.
At the Parkway Bowel Centre, Alison provides specialist nursing input to patients undergoing stoma formation.
Alison also lectures on a number of degree level health care programmes, has written articles for publication and has presented at national conferences. She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing, Association of Coloproctology and World Council of Enterostomal Therapy.
