In May 2012, Spire Norwich Hospital received an unannounced visit from the independent regulatory healthcare body the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC checks that healthcare providers across the UK are complying with government standards of quality and safety. The recent inspection focused on five key areas including patient consent and welfare, risk management and staff satisfaction - the CQC concluded the private hospital reached all levels of necessary compliance covered by their inspection.
Dan Cyprus, Hospital Director explains 'We are delighted with the outcome of the inspection. Unannounced visits ensure we're measured against how we operate on a daily basis. Knowing the amazing efforts that our staff and consultants put into ensuring patient care is at the forefront of our services gave me a real confidence during the thorough inspection. I feel extremely proud to be part of the team at Spire and will continue to work with the wider team and patients to ensure we are constantly listening, learning and improving.'
'Since the hospital became part of Spire Healthcare in 2007, our patient satisfaction, consultant satisfaction and staff satisfaction survey scores have increased each year as we continue to focus in the right areas. Patient and staff welfare and safety are of paramount importance to Spire, and to have the CQC confirm that we are doing a good job has put a smile on the face of our 300 staff.'
