    Professional profile:
    I am an Upper GI Surgeon specialising in laparoscopic surgery and Oesophagogastric cancer, Clinical Director of General Surgery and hold an honorary Senior Lecturer post at the UEA medical school.

    I qualified at St Thomas' Hospital Medical School in 1988 and did my surgical training mainly in London, Los Angeles and East Anglia before being appointed as a consultant at the Norfolk and Norwich in 1999.

    Conditions treated:
    - Laparoscopic surgery: gallstones, reflux surgery, stomach surgery, Bariatric (obesity) surgery, hernia.

    - Minor surgery: local anaesthetic hernia repair, groin strain (Gilmores groin).

    - Major cancer surgery: Gastrectomy, Oesophagectomy, Liver resection.

    - Obesity surgery: Laparoscopic band.
    Personal profile:
    Currently have two small children. My wife, Maria, works in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital ITU.

    Hobbies include running, skiing, basic childcare and carpentry (warning: last two don't mix!).
