Professional profile:

Mr Benedict Rogers is a consultant orthopaedic & trauma surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, as well as sports injuries.

Mr Rogers clinical and research interests centre on lower limb reconstruction, including revision arthroplasty and lower limb arthroscopy, and trauma surgery. As an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Brighton & Sussex Medical School, he is regularly involved in education and research, including lectures, clinical, cadaveric and theatre-based teaching.  In addition, he had developed the first web-based resources for orthopaedic research and education at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals

Mr Rogers training afforded him a wide breadth of clinical experience focusing upon these specialties and he undertook a 2-year fellowship (2010 – 2012) at University of Toronto teaching hospitals, attending Mount Sinai Hospital & Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He was the first orthopaedic surgeon to be awarded the Zane Cohen Fellowship Award by the University of Toronto

With an extensive and ongoing research portfolio covering basic science and clinical practice, he currently has over 70 publications, 7 book chapters and over 80 presentations, including several at the British Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, with number awarded prizes. In addition, he continues to collaborate with various university departments and orthopaedic companies

Mr Rogers is a reviewer for the following journals: Bone & Joint Journal (formerly JBJS Br), JBJS Am, Journal of Arthroplasty & Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR)

Personal profile:

I am married with two young sons, and a keen sportsman when time permits. I have completed over 15 marathons, five Ironman triathlons and whilst at university was awarded an Oxford blue for rugby league.
