Pre-assessment Nurse – full or part time

Our Vacancy:

As a competent registered nurse this is a very exciting opportunity to join our pre-assessment service.   You will run pre-assessment clinics for our inpatient and day-case services and work closely with consultants across our specialities to provide appropriate care for our patients.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Working alongside our Ward Manager to develop and review new patient processes as well as contributing to quality improvement.
  • Ensuring that clinical risk assessments are undertaken to the appropriate level prior to admission and using the information pro-actively.
  • Assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Assisting in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and well-being needs.
  • Promoting best practice in health and safety and security.

Who we are looking for 

You will be a registered nurse with a positive attitude to developing and expanding your nursing skills. You will have previous experience in running pre-assessment clinics and will be innovative and forward thinking.  You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with the multidisciplinary team to guarantee that the service runs effectively.

Orthopaedic Team Lead


Our Vacancy:

Exciting opportunities for a full time Orthopaedic Team Lead has arisen within the theatre department at The Montefiore Hospital. We are looking for a experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Perioperative Practitioner who should possess a high level of scrub competence and should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the orthopaedic specialty.

The successful candidates will form part of our expanding team, and will be expected to provide and maintain a high quality service. We can offer support from a strong management team, the opportunity to work alongside expert clinicians, access to professional and personal development and experience within a dynamic working environment.

The successful applicant will hold the following:

  • Registered Nurse/ODP and current NMC/HPC registration
  • Experience of orthopaedic procedures essential
  • ILS/ALS qualification desirable
  • Flexibility with shift patterns, on call rota and weekend work is essential
  • Experience of working in a management role desirable
  • Mentorship qualification desirable
  • Candidate must have a desire for excellence and a passion for providing a high standard of patient-centred care

Oncology clinical nurse specialist

30 hours per week

Our vacancy:

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Oncology Nurse to apply for the post of Generic Oncology Nurse Specialist at The Montefiore Hospital.

As an organisation we are committed to developing our services in ways that best suit the needs of our patients. This means that some staff groups may be asked to work a more flexible shift pattern so that we can offer outpatient services in the evenings.

The successful post holder will join the existing skilled nursing team, and will be expected to provide and maintain a high quality service, working within Spire Cancer Standards.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record in improving and maintaining exceptional patient care and customer service in oncological/haematological   outpatient clinics and   chemotherapy delivery in a beautiful 9 chaired outpatient chemotherapy unit that has been designed with our user group for outpatient chemotherapy to include both Haematology and solid tumours.

Bank Pharmacist

Main responsibilities:
You will support our Pharmacy Team to provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation and professional, ethical and clinical requirements. You will also provide support to consultants and patients whilst also advising the hospital and other departments on the safe management of medicines and ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care to meet patient's health and wellbeing
  • Run the hospital pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist, alongside contracted pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant
  • Verify Chemotherapy regimens/prescriptions as well as dispensing/checking/releasing these chemotherapy prescriptions
  • Be flexible in your role to meet the demands of the pharmacy service
  • Contribute to the development of services and quality improvements.

Working hours:
Generally 09:00 until 17:00 on demand to cover holidays, sickness and other peak times.

Experience:
You will have experience of working in a pharmacy and will have worked in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams. You will be able to apply clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements. You will have suitable chemotherapy training/experience to undertake the verification, dispensing and checking of IV and oral chemotherapy prescriptions.

You will be able to demonstrate competence across a range of pharmaceutical subjects supported by professional and clinical knowledge as well as evidence of continuing professional development.

You will be able to work as part of a small team as well as independently and will be able to take the initiative. You will be happy working on your own some of the time. You will take pride in your work and will be able to work in a flexible manner.

  • ILS/ALS qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility with shift patterns, on call rota and weekend work is essential.
