Medical Secretary

We have exciting opportunities for the role of Medical Secretary. The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of Consultants with expanding practices at The Montefiore Hospital. In this key role you are tasked with ensuring Consultants’ clinic notes and letter to General Practitioners are typed up in a timely fashion, Patient and Consultants queries answered, to provide copy clinic letters when needed, to keep records of all patient results received and distributed to appropriate Consultants. To ensure Consultants mail is opened and distributed and to type discharged summaries dictated by Consultants.
The successful candidates will form part of our expanding team, and will be expected to provide and maintain a high quality service.  We can offer support from a strong management team, access to professional and personal development and experience within a dynamic working environment. As a Medical Secretary, you will interact closely with a wide range of clinical managers in Theatres, Outpatients, Diagnostics and Medical Records Departments. Training for all aspects of your role will be given in order to support your continuous professional development.

 

Bank Pharmacist

Main responsibilities:
You will support our Pharmacy Team to provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation and professional, ethical and clinical requirements. You will also provide support to consultants and patients whilst also advising the hospital and other departments on the safe management of medicines and ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care to meet patient's health and wellbeing
  • Run the hospital pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist, alongside contracted pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant
  • Verify Chemotherapy regimens/prescriptions as well as dispensing/checking/releasing these chemotherapy prescriptions
  • Be flexible in your role to meet the demands of the pharmacy service
  • Contribute to the development of services and quality improvements.

Working hours:
Generally 09:00 until 17:00 on demand to cover holidays, sickness and other peak times.

Experience:
You will have experience of working in a pharmacy and will have worked in partnership with consultants and across clinical teams. You will be able to apply clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient requirements. You will have suitable chemotherapy training/experience to undertake the verification, dispensing and checking of IV and oral chemotherapy prescriptions.

You will be able to demonstrate competence across a range of pharmaceutical subjects supported by professional and clinical knowledge as well as evidence of continuing professional development.

You will be able to work as part of a small team as well as independently and will be able to take the initiative. You will be happy working on your own some of the time. You will take pride in your work and will be able to work in a flexible manner.

Theatre Scrub Nurse ( full or part time)

Due to continued growth and expansion exciting opportunities for full time or part time nurses/ODPs has arisen within the theatre department at The Montefiore Hospital. We are looking for experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Perioperative Practitioners who should possess scrub skills and have at least six months experience within a theatre environment.

The successful candidates will form part of our expanding team, and will be expected to provide and maintain a high quality service. We can offer support from a strong management team, the opportunity to work alongside expert clinicians, access to professional and personal development and experience within a dynamic working environment.

The successful applicant will hold the following:

  • Registered Nurse/ODP and current NMC/HPC registration.
  • Experience of orthopaedic and/or laparoscopic, general, urology, gynae and plastics procedures ideal .
  • ILS/ALS qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility with shift patterns, on call rota and weekend work is essential.

Senior Staff Nurse on Night Duty

We are looking for someone who is committed and passionate to providing patient-centred care, has a desire for excellence, has high expectations of self and others, models good practice, has a positive attitude and is proactive, is an effective communicator and is well-respected, and is a supportive team player. Development opportunities will be supported. A broad clinical background in acute nursing is essential, as is the ability to manage a diverse group of clinical conditions. Critical care experience desirable but not essential.
