I trained in Yorkshire and have had the wonderful experience of working within the teams in West Yorkshire who take pride in care of their patients with cancer.
I took time out of my training to complete a PhD looking at new potential treatments for cancer. I also spent extra time through my training involved in clinical trials work and have learned to seek improvement through the rigour of involvement in research.
I have published research articles and presented my work at national and international conferences.
More recently I have been involved in developing oncology services at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust. For the past 3 years my main speciality interests have been in treating patients with breast or lung cancer. During this time I have also helped to develop our Acute Oncology team and am currently overseeing the introduction of a Cancer of Unknown Primary service as we look forward to expanding our local provision of cancer services.
I take an active role within the network as Chair of the West Yorkshire Breast group with direct involvement with the Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Clinical Network Breast Group, seeking to improve care over a wider area as possible.
