Spire Manchester Hospital's weight loss surgery service has been recognised as a Weight Loss Surgery Centre of Excellence by IFSO in recognition of the comprehensive level of care before, during and after weight loss surgery (also called bariatric or obesity surgery). Spire Manchester Hospital's experienced bariatric team carried out several hundred weight loss operations in 2010 and have been performing weight loss surgery for over 5 years.
An experienced, multi-disciplinary team to support you
We have a number of highly skilled weight loss surgeons, all of whom are on the specialist register of the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) and have local NHS practices.
We have a multidisciplinary team including bariatric nurse specialists, dedicated dieticians, medical officers and access to other surgical and medical professionals including psychologists, endocrinologists and chest physicians, ensuring you receive the care required to prepare you for weight loss surgery and provide you with the support you need following your procedure.

All of your treatment and care will be carried out at the hospital and you will have access to a 24 hour emergency helpline should you experience any problems.
Fixed Price Packages
We offer fixed price packages for all of our procedures which covers your two year follow up care, any band fill adjustments (gastric band patients only) and high dependency unit care (HDU) should you require it.
Aftercare Package
Our 2-year follow up aftercare package includes regular face-to-face, email and telephone conversations with our bariatric team. You will also become a life long member of our bariatric peer support group, giving you the opportunity to socialise with people who have undergone the same life changing surgery.
