If you find a breast lump or notice a change or other symptom in your breast then ask your GP to refer you to our One Stop Breast Clinic. Here you will be seen by a specialist breast team including a specialist doctor and a specialist breast nurse. We try to perform all mammograms, scans and biopsies on the same day so that you get a result as quickly as possible.
If you’re worried about breast cancer, we provide a comprehensive service you can trust
Breast Health Check Up
If you are worried about breast cancer and would like a breast check up, you can come to a clinic even if you do not have any particular symptom at present. This service includes:
- An assessment of your risk of breast cancer
- Advice on breast awareness
- If you are over 40 years of age a mammogram
- Advice on breast cancer prevention
For women over 50 years of age we recommend that you participate in the NHS breast screening programme, which offers you a mammogram every three years. If you wish to supplement this with a visit to one of our Breast Clinics “inbetween” then of course we would be pleased to see you to provide added reassurance.
If you are aged under 40 then the clinic visit here will usually involve a consultation with one of our specialist doctors or nurses, but not involve a mammogram.
