Following his work in the humanitarian field of earthquake surgery, he was appointed Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Manchester University Medical School. After nearly 10 years there he moved back to his home town - Manchester to work in independent practice and focus on his main areas of interest: Advanced facial rejuvenation, cosmetic surgery and limb reconstruction with a special interest in upper limb cerebral palsy surgery. His early training in London allowed him to start carrying out cosmetic procedures in 1993 and since then he has expanded and refined his techniques through a busy cosmetic practice as a consultant and through international visits and meetings. Waseem Saeed carries out a full range of cosmetic surgical procedures but has a special interest in facial rejuvenation combing the latest techniques of surgery, and non-surgical techniques of volume enhancement, and skin cosmoceutical and platelet treatments into comprehensive programmes to combat the effects of ageing. He also specialises in advanced liposculpture using the state-of-the-art "Bodyjet System", rhinoplasty and cosmetic breast surgery and the correction of problems after cosmetic surgery. Charity and disaster relief work Waseem Saeed is committed to humanitarian work in his field, travelling to Pakistan, Indonesia, China and Haiti to carry out limb salvage surgery after the tragic earthquakes in these countries. As a result of his extensive reconstructive experience Dr Waseem is the Lead Plastic Surgeon for the British Government earthquake disaster team (UKIETR) and is working with UK-Med and the Royal College of Surgeons on training programmes for surgical relief workers. In 2010 he was awarded a Special Recognition Award by the UK EMBF for his work. Hand and microsurgery Whilst treating a range of hand surgical conditions, Waseem Saeed specialises in getting hands working again in those afflicted by cerebral palsy, other forms of spasticity and reconstruction of nerve injuries. He currently provides one of the few hand surgery services in the UK for children and adults with cerebral palsy.
