Mr Mohammad is Clinical Lead for Spines at the North West Spinal Unit at Salford Royal Hospital. He trained in Glasgow and Newcastle and practised at the Birmingham Spinal Unit before moving to Manchester.
He is a dedicated spinal surgeon, trained in deformity surgery and also has a specialist interest in complex cervical spine surgery. He also carries out surgery for degenerative conditions of the whole spine, tumours, infection and trauma.
Mr Mohammad has developed pioneering treatment for degenerative scoliosis. Patients are referred to him from across the region due to his expertise in this field. Outcomes measures are important to assess success of treatment and Mr Mohammad is part of an international group collecting data on patient outcomes after surgery. He is also developing innovative tumour surgery alongside thoracic surgeons; a service not previously available in Manchester.
Mr Mohammad is an enthusiastic numismatist; always delighted and grateful for the additions to his collection his patients and colleagues kindly bring him when returning from foreign climes.
