Background Information
Professional profile:

Mr Lavender has been a consultant knee surgeon since 2002. His entire elective practice is devoted to knee surgery.

He has been trained in and provides a full range of knee surgery, with all treatments / operations being tailored to your circumstances and needs.

He has a special interest in arthroscopic (Keyhole) knee surgery. This allows cartilages (menisci) to be repaired or removed. Damage to the articular cartilage to be treated and loose bodies to be removed. Mr Lavender has performed over 3000 arthroscopic procedures.

Ligament damage is becoming more common. Mr Lavender treats people with single and multiple ligament problems. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most frequently damaged. Mr Lavender has performed over 600 ACL reconstructions.

Arthritis causes a great deal of pain and is more frequently affecting younger people. Mr Lavender tailors the treatment that you need to your circumstances. In younger, fitter people then an osteotomy (leg realignment) may be appropriate. When it comes to knee replacements then depending upon the extent of the arthritis a part (Unicompartmental) or full knee replacement may be best. Mr Lavender has performed over 600 total knee replacements.
