My NHS work is spent at Salford Royal NHS Trust, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. I run the regional headache service at Salford Royal Hospital, a neuro-ophthalmology clinic with ophthalmologists at the Eye Hospital and see inpatients and outpatients with a broad range of neurological disorders.

I trained at Birmingham University, qualifying in 1994. I went on to work in London and then Manchester where I obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998 (MRCP). Subsequently, I spent time researching gene therapy for Parkinson’s disease at Manchester University and Atypical Parkinsonian disorders, particularly PSP, at Newcastle University.

I completed my specialist neurology training at Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre (GMNC), developing special interests in headache disorders and neuro-ophthalmology.
