Spire Manchester Hospital was chosen to provide diagnostic tests for a new BBC One two-part series looking at three potentially life threatening conditions, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and liver disease. Presented by Julia Bradbury, Phil Tufnell and Dr Phil Hammond the programme also features actress Crissy Rock, who attended the Spire Manchester hospital.
The programme aimed to conduct the largest health screening event of its kind, which was held in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium on the 25th May.
Cardiologists Dr Tim Gray and Dr Aamir Ayub along with Consultant Radiologist Dr Rajashanker from Spire Manchester Hospital saw a number of the members of the public screened at the event to provide specialist diagnostics and clinical reports for those who had been highlighted as having risk factors.
The programme was supported by three charities – Diabetes UK, HEART UK and British Liver Trust and aimed to highlight potential risk factors and provide practical advice and support to help people reduce their risks through lifestyle changes.
The programme will be aired on Monday 22nd July and Monday 29th July at 9pm.
