Mr Paul completed his medical training at University of Madras, India, before undertaking his postgraduate training in orthopaedic and trauma surgery at various hospitals in Manchester and Wrightington.  He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Infirmary NHS Foundation Trust in 1994 and continues to hold this post.

Mr Paul manages an extensive orthopaedic practices at Central Manchester University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Spire Manchester Hospital, treating a the full array of general orthopaedic conditions from upper to lower limb with specialist interests in sports injuries and soft tissue tumours.

Apart from his research interests he also is involved with teaching medical students and post graduates on a regular basis.
