This service is aimed at checking prostate health and requires two visits to the hospital.
Men are traditionally reluctant to discuss their health worries or concerns so at Spire Lverpool Hospital we have put together a special package to make it easy for them to seek help and reassurance.
If you’ve experienced urinary problems, it may be as a result of prostate growth. We provide a One-Stop Rapid Access Clinic with assessments from specialist urologists covering:
- urinary test
- urine flow test
- blood test
- bladder scan
Whether you’re insured or not, we’re open to everyone and offer one-off private treatment with a fixed price. For us it’s more than just treating patients, it’s about looking after people.
So what will happen next?
At the first of these, patients will undergo a blood test to determine PSA (prostate specific antigen) levels and also measure kidney function. They will then undergo a flow study and a bladder scan. At the end of the visit they will be issued with questionnaires to complete prior to their second visit.
The second visit, which will be two or more days after the initial one, will be with one of our consultant urologists, Mr John McCabe or Mr Phil Cornford. They will review the test results, perform a physical examination and if further treatment is advised, discuss the next steps with the patient.
