Physiotherapy Team Leader / Lower Limb Specialist
Jane qualified from Liverpool in 1984 where her general orthopaedic experience was gained. On moving south five years later, she further developed her experience in MSK, sports injuries, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, women’s health and vestibular rehabilitation. She was a tutor and examiner for the British Academy of Western Acupuncture.
Returning north in 1992 to work with Leeds United, Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos, Jane developed her skills in lower limb rehabilitation, sports injuries, spinal and vestibular problems.
After her move to Manchester in 1999, she worked with Granada studios, actors and cameramen to assess and develop exercise programmes to prevent spinal problems related to work postures and injuries. She was part of the team treating the Manchester Giants Basketball team, Manchester Storm Ice Hockey and other various clubs in and around Manchester. She spent time at the National Hospital for Neurology in London developing examination and treatment skills for balance and dizziness problems.
The last 10 years has focused primarily on lower limb, completing her Master’s Module on assessment and diagnosis, balance problems and post-surgical care. Jane regularly attends orthopaedic clinics with members of the Bone and Joint Centre, to ensure the most efficient and evidence based treatments are provided to any clients referred to the physiotherapy team.
Jane is a full practicing member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and is trained in the use of electro-acupuncture.
