Dr Wright leads shrinking heart study

May 2012

Spire Liverpool Cardiologist Dr D J Wright has lead a pioneering shrinking heart study for patients with heart failure.

The medical technique involves a device similar to a pacemaker being fitted in the hope that it will stop the heart enlarging and improve the patients life expectancy.

The first man in Liverpool to have the operation was Mr Carl Jordan and this took place on Monday 30th April. It was performed by Dr D J Wright with fellow Spire Consultant Vascular Surgeon Mr Robert Fisher.
