After qualifying from Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, Dr Abukhalil moved to England for his post graduate training. He spent most of his time as a junior doctor in the Midlands. Working in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall and back again to Birmingham to work as a Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital. During that time Dr Abukhalil became a member then a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in London. He was also awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Keele University in Staffordshire. In 1997 Dr Abukhalil became an NHS Consultant at Sandwell Hospital in West Bromwich. At the present time he provides his NHS services at City Hospital in Birmingham as well.
He sees patients with a variety of gynaecological complaints and conditions. Dr Abukhalil has a wide and varied experience in all aspects of benign gynaecology and gynaecological surgery.
Recently he established links with IREMA a fertility clinic in Spain (near Alicante). One of the main groups of women who benefit from being referred to IREMA is women who need Egg Donation as a treatment for their difficulty in conceiving. The waiting time to find a suitable matched donor through IREMA is only a few days while it could take years to find a donor in the UK.
