Having qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1997, Mr Youssef is a colorectal and general surgery consultant at Spire Little Aston and Good Hope Hospital, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Yousef performs laparoscopic (keyhole) operations for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis), diverticular disease, gallstones and hernia repair. He also treats anal conditions including haemorrhoids (piles), fissures and anal fistulas. As well as more conventional techniques for the treatment of piles, He offers THD (a less painful treatment for piles aimed at tying off the circulation to the piles, using special equipment to identify the circulation).
Mr Youssef also performs colonoscopy and endoscopy of the stomach (OGD / gastroscopy). As well as carrying out a range of colorectal and general surgical procedures, he has a special interest in advanced bowel cancer and peritoneal malignancy.
Mr Youssef was trained in this highly skilled surgery in Basingstoke, a world renowned centre in the treatment of bowel and peritoneal cancer, and has set up the peritoneal tumour service at Good Hope Hospital this is the only one of its kind in the Midlands and one of 3 such units in the UK.
