An amazing £281,652 was raised for good causes across the region by participants of this year's Great Midlands Fun Run.
The 8.5-mile charity event around the streets of Sutton Coldfield and through the town's main park saw a record fundraising total follow on from a record entry of 7,000, with would-be participants once again having to be turned away.
The staggering figure for charities and organisations is more than £50,000 higher than last year, at a time when charitable donations elsewhere have been falling, in part due to the present economic situation.
On the 25th November the organisers of the Great Midland Fun Run put together an awards ceremony to give the sponsors and charities that have benefitted from the Great Midlands Fun Run a chance to see who the money went to and how it can affect the charities.
Our physiotherapy manager, Jenny Clarke attended the event on Spire Little Aston Hospital's behalf to be given an award to show how grateful the organisers are of all the help the sponsors give to enable the event to be a success every year.
