Spire Little Aston Hospital recently made a generous donation to Acorns Children's Hospice on behalf of a grateful patient.
The lady was so appreciative of the treatment and level of care she received from a consultant radiologist at Little Aston she asked if he would select a worthy charity to bequeath the sum of £5,000.
Earlier this year the hospital celebrated its 25th anniversary and held a Silver Jubilee Ball to raise money for Acorns. The consultant chose to add the patient’s donation to the £4,000 raised at the event.
Acorns, which aims to offer care and support for every child or young person with a life limiting or life threatening condition living in the region, is the official charity partner of Aston Villa Football Club. Life President of the club, Doug Ellis, was also a Founding Director of Little Aston Hospital. Mr Ellis attended the Silver Jubilee Ball where he too made a generous donation.
A cheque was presented to Mr Stephen Gilmore, from Acorns Children's Hospice at the Aston Villa v Chelsea football match on Saturday 16 October.
