Throughout October Spire Little Aston Hospital held various fundraising events to raise money for breast cancer charities.
On 19th October the hospital held a cake sale where staff made various cakes and sold them to patients and around the hospital which was a delicious start to the day!
Members of staff also came in on their days off and took time out of their day to clean patient’s and staff cars for £5 per car. They did an amazing job in the cold, as you can tell from the picture! In total on that one day they raised £595, which is a fantastic effort.
Throughout October the staff at the hospital sold tickets to family and friends for a raffle that was drawn on the 31st October. They sold an amazing 729 tickets, and the prizes ranged from a Spa Day at Hoar Cross Hall, a Tour of Aston Villa Football Club, Beauty Treatments and many more! Winners included staff, patients, family and friends.
In partnership with CancerPartnersUK the hospital also held a charity fashion show where patients with breast cancer modelled clothes from New Life. Tickets were sold for the event and clothes were available to be bought on the day, which managed to raise £687.
In total October’s fundraising activity raised a massive £2011. This has been divided between three charities; Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield, Breast Friends Solihull and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a national charity. Each charity received £670.33.
