After qualification from Cairo University, I successfully completed my higher training in anaesthesia in Sheffiled Teaching Hospitals. During that period I gained my fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and following a detailed and structured training programme in Pain medicine I gained the Fellowship of the faculty of pain through examination in 2014. This is the year that I was appointed as a consultant in Anaesthetics and pain medicine in the University Hospitals of Leicester.
In addition to my work in chronic pain, I also work in LOROS to help with the pain management in terminally ill patients.
After a detailed and meticulous assessment, I offer medical management, physiotherapy in addition to interventional management in the form of injection therapy including radio frequency lesioning of the nerves.
My areas of interest include:
- Spinal pain: Neck, upper and lower back which includes facet joint pain, sacroiliac joint pain and sciatica type pain.
- Muscle pain and fibromyalgia.
- Joint pain-such as shoulder, knees and hips.
- Abdominal and pelvic pain which includes pancreatitis pain.
- Cancer Pain
