An Oncology and GI radiologist with comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology training, I completed my basic surgical training in Liverpool before coming to Leicester and commencing on four years of general, diagnostic radiology training.

Following my general radiology training I completed a further three years of sub-speciality gastrointestinal, genitourinary and vascular radiology training in Leicester. This included a post specialist training fellowship in vascular interventional Radiology.

Diagnostic radiology: Interpretation of x-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI scans of the abdomen and pelvis, particularly the diagnosis of cancers and bowel disorders.

Interventional Radiology:. Establishing vascular access to allow chemotherapy to be given. The insertion of feeding tubes into the stomach and small bowel. Drainage of fluid collections using image guidance including long term drainage tubes to allow patients to manage their symptoms at home. Insertion of stents to re-open blocked tubes within the body( eg oesophagus, bile ducts, ureters, large veins). Biopsy of lesions to establish diagnosis (including transjugular biopsy).
