Dr Manoj Bhandari practices at the Royal Derby Hospital as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and more recently at Spire Leicester Hospital. He trained in Cardiology in the East Midlands rotation, both in Leicester and Nottingham.
His practice encompasses management of a varied spectrum of cardiovascular disease including coronary artery disease, hypertension, valvular heart disease, heart failure and rhythm disturbance. He believes in preventive cardiology and advocates for evaluation of cardiac risk factors through available appropriate diagnostic tools.
Dr Bhandari has particular interest in coronary intervention (angioplasty) including simple and complex interventional procedures also involving treating the left main disease by this approach. He performs the majority of his cases using radial access (forearm) and as day case procedures. Dr Bhandari has vast experience in research, publishes widely in peer reviewed journals and presents in national and international meetings.
Dr Bhandari sub-specialises in Interventional Cardiology involving balloon angioplasty and stenting of the coronary arteries. He deals with chest pain (angina), coronary artery disease and hypertension.
Heart disease and hypertension are a common spectrum of disease in today’s stressful lifestyle and Dr Bhandari firmly believes in prevention before it adversely affects an individual's health.
Dr Bhandari has had extensive training abroad where he gained invaluable experience in the interventional field. He is a multi-linguist which he finds to be an additional asset especially considering Leicester having a mixed population of different ethnicity.
