I am a musculoskeletal radiologist and specialise in diagnosis, imaging (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI) and minimally invasive treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. I also specialise in imaging and management of lumps and bumps using multimodality approach. I have a keen interest in soft tissue and bone sarcoma imaging and have been instrumental in developing these services at hospitals in Leicester.
I perform high resolution ultrasound scans for soft tissue lumps and bumps which helps to find the true nature of the lump and guides towards the correct treatment. This service is loved by my patients and greatly appreciated by surgeons. I also have special interest in sports related bone and soft tissue injuries and am working for National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, Loughborough. The NCSEM-EM is one of three hubs forming the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine England, along with London and Sheffield. I have been involved in the development of the Imaging services, like state of the art 3T MRI service and high-resolution musculoskeletal ultrasound.
I specialise in imaging and management of the acute and chronic soft tissue and bone sports related injuries like Achilles tendon problems, stress injuries and tendinosis. I perform the latest, innovative and evidence based procedures for treatment of these conditions. I have an interest in the imaging of back problems including chronic lower back pain and perform complex spinal procedures under image guidance including spinal nerve blocks, facet blocks and bone biopsies. I perform imaging of arthritis including inflammatory spinal disease, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. I perform high resolution ultrasound scans of the small joints of the hands and feet to detect early signs of inflammation in the joints to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis.
I take immense pride in my work and patient care is at heart of everything I do. I have trained extensively, starting with an MD degree in Radiodiagnosis in India followed by five years radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester, with a musculoskeletal Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore UK. Eight years of radiology training after my basic medical training has developed me into a confident and safe musculoskeletal radiologist.
In addition to my clinical work, I am involved in the radiology training for junior doctors and radiographers. I am presently the Royal college tutor for Leicester radiology training scheme.
I am a friendly, approachable doctor and have time for my patients making every effort to provide the best them. I consider a satisfied and smiling patient as the best reward for my job.
