I became a consultant in 2002 having been the first UK trainee to complete specialist training in Allergy.
I specialise in Allergy with particular interests in the diagnosis and management of food hypersensitivity (including food anaphylaxis, IgE and non-IgE-mediated food allergy, food intolerance and eosinophilic oesphagitis), anaphylaxis, urticarial conditions, angioedema, seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, latex allergy and mast cell activation syndromes.
In addition to my clinical work I am committed to Allergy education both of the public, doctors and allied health professionals. I am a member of the Scientific and Advisory Panel for the patient support group the Anaphylaxis Campaign providing them with specialist input in their work in educating the public about life threatening allergies.
I am the Chief Editor for the Allergy KBA an exam-style assessment sat by all doctors during their Allergy specialist training. I am also on the faculty of the food allergy module of the Allergy MSc hosted by Imperial College London.
