Mr David Lloyd is a consultant general surgeon at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and has a thriving private practice at Spire Leicester Hospital where he also consults. Mr Lloyd carries out surgical procedures for patients from all over the Midlands and beyond and has a national and international reputation for both his specialist expertise in liver surgery and his innovative work in keyhole surgery.
Mr Lloyd specialises in hepatobiliary surgery, gall stone disease, jaundice, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, groin hernias, groin strain, laparoscopic hernia repair, liver cancer and pancreatic cancer.
Through his work in the NHS, Mr Lloyd has achieved world wide recognition for his success in the treatment of liver tumours by developing a pioneering technique using microwaves to destroy liver tumours. Mr Lloyd has treated more than 100 patients in the UK and other patients are now being treated internationally.
