There are a comprehensive range of cardiac exercise services suitable for patients who have had heart surgery. People who have had heart attacks, stents or who suffer from angina may also benefit from these courses, particularly if they are anxious or unaccustomed to regular exercise.

Patients are given a graded individualised exercise programme. The course runs twice a week for six weeks and includes advice sessions on diet, stress management and long-term secondary prevention.
There are also longer term maintenance classes held at a variety of times: morning; noon; afternoon; and evening, to suit everyone. Individual exercise prescription, monitoring of blood pressure and pulse and fitness assessments are included. One-off individual assessments of fitness and a prescribed programme of exercise are offered.
This might take the form of a walking programme or may be a plan of exercises which could be carried out at home or at a local gym. We use a variety of exercise testing to objectively assess progress.
