I received my basic medical qualifications from the Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. Most of my subsequent training has been in the UK. I am accredited as a specialist general surgeon and transplant surgeon. I also have a research interest in various aspects of organ transplantation and have been awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) by University of Leeds.
My core surgical interest is organ transplantation (kidney, liver, pancreas). I lead the kidney transplant programme in Leeds. I perform peritoneal and haemodialysis access surgery and specialise in surgery in patients with renal failure.
My specialist area in general surgery is hepato-pancreatobiliary surgery. At Spire I mainly offer surgery of the gallbladder, pancreas, hernia operation and other minor surgery.
