Mr Anthony Rutherford has worked in reproductive medicine since 1985. He trained under the guidance of Professor Robert Winston at the Hammersmith Hospital in London before moving to Yorkshire and setting up the Leeds General Infirmary's Reproductive Medicine Unit in 1991.

Mr Rutherford is actively involved in reproductive medicine nationally in the British Fertility Society and in further education through the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He was a founder member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and has promoted the use of minimal access surgery in gynaecology since his appointment at the Leeds General Infirmary as a consultant gynaecologist in 1991.
