"Since working in the customer services department I have gained some great skills”
I have been lucky enough to learn and work in several different roles in the hospital including Catering, NHS, reservations, medical records and even reception! I continued to work regularly all over whilst funding myself through college.
The job I enjoyed the most was working alongside the NHS team here at Fylde Coast. This is why I was thrilled when a position came up that suited my personal and financial needs and I was lucky enough to be successful. My current role involves a wide variety of admin and liaising with patients, GP’s and consultants with different queries. Luckily I thrive off problem solving and love a challenge!
Being an NHS advisor I get great job satisfaction! Not only does the job require you to be meticulously organised and methodical, because of the volume of work I am always busy. The most rewarding part of the job I feel is when we have positive feedback from the patients and if I have helped at any point in a patient’s journey and they are grateful. I find this extremely rewarding.
Since working in the customer services department I have gained some great skills which I know I will be able to use throughout my career. Not only am I completely confident on the telephone. I have also learnt to use our own computer system here STAR. I have since been selected to be a “Super-user” which involved going down to Reading on a course to learn the new computer system SAP. This is a great chance for me to develop my people skills as I will be cascading down information to other members of staff and assisting them when we go live!
I would describe the culture in our team here in customer services as extremely varied as we are all different ages and come from different backgrounds. I feel that there is a great family atmosphere at Spire Fylde Coast, for me more than others as my mother is actually my manager! I think we work great as a team and I would recommend Spire Fylde Coast to all of my friends and family not only as great place to work it’s a great place to come as a patient!"
