Interpreting Allergy Test Results

  • Diagnosing allergy is extremely complicated. For that reason our specialist consultants provide a comprehensive result interpretation service, giving clinicians the information they need to diagnose, manage and treat patients with allergic conditions.

The development of allergic symptoms against a substance varies between individuals. This depends on a number of factors including:

    • The degree of exposure
    • The level of IgE antibody
    • The individual’s clinical reactivity

Knowing a patient’s Specific IgE antibody levels increases the possibility of ranking how allergic substances affect their symptoms or if there is a possibility of cross-reaction.

Identifying allergens with low reactivity, that may not cause symptoms at present, may also aid in predicting future symptom development.
