I specialise in both male and female urology. I was appointed as a consultant urologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Spire Leeds Hospital in Roundhay in 2008.

Following training in general urology, I underwent advanced fellowship training in female urology and my main clinical interests are female and reconstructive urology. In particular, I am interested in the management of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse and sexual dysfunction. I am also interested in male reconstructive urology, including use of the artificial urinary sphincter.

I graduated in medicine (MB ChB) from the University of Leeds in 1995. Following that, I spent several years in the army and served as regimental medical officer to The Light Dragoons, with operational tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

I completed my basic surgical training in the Portsmouth area and was awarded a higher research degree (MD) for research into intravesical chemotherapy for bladder cancer. I joined the South West Specialist Registrar training programme in urology, where I trained in general urology and developed interests in female and reconstructive urology.

I was appointed to the first approved Fellowship programme in the UK in female urology and undertook this training in Leicester and the US.

I have numerous peer-reviewed publications and have made over 30 presentations at national and international scientific meetings.
