Mr Datir qualified from India and completed a postgraduate degree in orthopaedics (MS). He worked as a lecturer in a teaching hospital for 2 years. Mr Datir has completed specialist training in orthopaedics and worked within the Yorkshire region for the majority of his career in England. After this Mr Datir trained at the world renowned Wrightington hospital, a highly specialised tertiary referral centre for joint replacements, for one year as a hip and knee joint replacement (arthroplasty) fellow.
He maintains an interest in general orthopaedics and trauma surgery with specialist interest in hip and knee surgery. This includes hip and knee primary replacements as well as knee arthroscopic surgery (key hole surgery) and unicompartmental (partial) knee replacement. Mr Datir has a special interest in revision/complex hip and knee surgery and has a keen interest in clinical research and has published several research articles in the international orthoapaedic journals.
