Voice disorders:
Vocal nodules, polyps or cysts, vocal cord palsy, muscle tension dysphonia, psychogenic or stree-related voice problems, reflux management, vocal abuse and misuse, aphonia (complete voice loss), cancer of the larynx

Speech difficulties in adults and children (over 10 years old) including:
Articulation disorders due to oral surgery, facial deformity or other structural abnormality, slurred speech and other neurological-related speech problems, difficulty with pronunciation of certain sounds.

Throat discomfort and chronic cough:
Throat dryness or pain, sensation of a 'lump' in the thraot (globus pharyngeus), persistent cough.

Swallowing disorders:
Assessment and advice for adults with swallowing difficulties relating to impaired laryngeal/pharyngeal function

Professional voice user training:
Offered in the workplace for groups of professional voice users such as teachers, lecturers, call centre workers, clergy, public speakers etc

Professional profile:

Lucy began working for the NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1990. She became a clinical specialist in voice disorders after completing an internship with the SLT and ENT Department at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham in 1994. In 2013 she set up her independent practice, working primarily with patientswho have voice, speech or swallowing disorders. She has been a lecturer in voice pathology at Leeds Metropolitan University since 2013.

Lucy began training in nutritional medicine in 2008 and qualified as a Registered Nutritional Therapist in 2014. She is now working towardsan MSc in Personalised Nutrition  - a programme which enables a more individualised approach to the nutritional management of patients with chronic disease. Lucy has a special interest in the treatment of reflux-related voice disorders through dietary management.

Personal profile:

Lucy is married with three children and together they are very involved in the local church, schools and wider community. As a family they enjoy travel and outdoor activities as well as a variety of music and sporting activities.
