Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Andrew Edwards now offers computer navigation in knee surgery at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital.
Mr Edwards says:
"Computer navigation in knee surgery can improve the consistency and accuracy of alignment. It can be used to record the preoperative alignment and range of movement, and compare these to the final alignment and range of movement at the end of the procedure.
"This record can be shown to the patient if they wish to see the operative procedure computer report, and the log of the procedure can be used in research to further develop knee replacement surgery'.
Mr Andrew Edwards is a specialist in lower limb orthopaedics taking referrals at Spire Hull & East Riding Hospital for major joint arthroplasty, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, knee and ankle arthroscopy and general foot and ankle conditions.
